Juneteenth Celebration – June 20
Juneteenth is the oldest nationally-celebrated commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States. The holiday recognizes African American freedom and emphasizes education and achievement. It is a time to reflect, rejoice, and plan for the future.
The free Juneteenth celebration at Market Creek Plaza is open to the San Diego community. The event features African drumming and dancing, gospel performances, live bands, kids activities, community resource booths, and refreshment vendors.
