Hands-on art classes offered by the Mingei and JCNI

In Arts and Culture, Education, Families, Youth

The Mingei International Museum and the Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation are hosting free, hands-on art classes for teens and families!

This six-week long session is the first of a series of art classes for teens and families at the Joe & Vi Jacobs Center. Artist and educator Felicia Morgenstern will lead participants as they create art projects inspired by the museum’s collections and exhibitions.

The theme for this session is “Branching Out – Connecting Past, Present & Future”. Participants will create their own Tree of Life/Family Tree and a Día de los Muertos-inspired ancestral offering using their personal and cultural materials and themes. Each group will also complete a joint project together.
