This school year brings a new Academy to Lincoln’s campus. The Center for Science and Engineering has developed a new Academy for 10th grade students, which encompasses elements of history, English, and Engineering.

This past summer, S & E teachers in these three subject areas worked to develop an interdisciplinary project that not only incorporates the content from each of their subject levels, but is also of high interest to students. The 10th grade students involved in this program will work in teams to develop an Affordable Housing Project, which will be judged by experts in the field of engineering from the Jacobs Center, PCL Construction & Degenkolb Engineers. Winners will have their projects considered as possible models for implementation in the Lincoln neighborhood, and they will present their work at the Project Based Learning Showcase in May 2012.
