Join us as we recognize and celebrate San Diego’s traditional artists and organizations in an evening of art-sharing, refreshments, and conversation.
T. Ford, Black Storytellers of San Diego; Kirin Amiling Macapugay, Kalingas North American Network; Stanley Rodriguez, Kumeyaay traditional singer; and a representative from Fandango Fronterizo; will lead off a discussion about the unique experiences and strategies of local traditional artists and their communities in navigating and negotiating physical, political, cultural, and social borders.
ACTA will present the California Living Heritage Award to Josephine S. Talamantez.
Special musical guest, Ramon “Chunky” Sanchez, NEA National Heritage Fellow.
