The Jacobs Center is Hiring for a Youth Program Manager
The Jacobs Center for Neighborhood Innovation is hiring for a Youth Program Manager for its Inspire Youth Careers San Diego initiative. Inspire Youth Careers San Diego takes an industry-focused approach to youth employment that puts opportunity youth into self-sustaining, middle-skill jobs. Working in a multi-disciplinary capacity, this role intersects the Education, Creative Placemaking, and Economic Development offices of the Jacobs Center in order to create a re-engagement system for opportunity youth ages 16-24.
Our approach is to establish industry pathways, developed with key partners across sectors: social service organizations; education partners; and private sector partners, resulting in youth participants receiving industry guided training along with certifications, college units, stackable badges and permanent jobs within each training area. This position requires strong management skills with the proven ability to bring stakeholders and internal teams together, organize and implement a re-engagement and workforce program that is focused on improving educational and employment outcomes for youth ages 16-24 who are neither employed or in school.
The goals of Inspire Youth Careers San Diego include:
• Ensuring that opportunity youth are effectively connected to the best pathway based on their needs, interests and strengths.
• Implementation partners are providing high-quality services.
• New programs are developed as needed to meet the needs of opportunity youth.
• Data is used to identify gaps, track progress, and ensure quality and continuous improvement.
This position requires a leader with the proven ability to achieve goals in a high-pressure environment and ability to work with diverse stakeholders representing multiple sectors. This position reports to the Director of Education and Creative Placemaking.
