In Community News, Education, Health and Wellness

Dear gardeners and future gardeners,

Do you want to learn how to start or manage a community garden? Healthy Works can help.

As part of the Healthy Works School and Community Gardens Program, five agencies across the County have been selected as Regional Garden Education Centers (RGEC), community-based hubs for garden education and training.  These sites offer free public courses in the areas of:

  • Gardening 101: How to Grow Your Own Food
  • Gardening 201: How to Start and Manage a Community Garden
  • Gardening 301: How to Start and Sustain a School Garden

Olivewood Gardens & Learning Center, the Healthy Works South Regional RGEC site, is currently hosting Gardening 201: How to Start and Manage a Community Garden: http://olivewoodgardens.org/education/gardening-201. Individuals unable to attend the first session are welcome to register and attend the second session on Saturday, July 23 from 8 a.m. – 12 p.m.
